Kids Privacy Notice

This notice explains, in plain language, how Tinkerville handles information from children under 13, in line with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). When you check the consent box on our signup, this is what you are agreeing to.

The short version

Tinkerville is designed for families. Kids can read about characters, play free games, and draw — none of those require an account. Anything that involves a child's information (Junior Inventors Club emails, the skateboard giveaway entry) is done by a parent or guardian from a verified email address.

Information we may collect from a child

  • First name and age (giveaway entries only).
  • An original drawing the parent chooses to upload for the giveaway.
  • Nothing else — no last name, no address (unless the child wins), no school, no photo.

Parental consent

Before any of the above is collected, the parent/guardian must check the consent box stating: “I'm a parent/guardian and consent to COPPA-compliant updates.” We send a confirmation email to the parent before activating a Junior Inventors Club subscription.

How we use it

  • To run the giveaway and notify the winner's parent.
  • To send the free lesson plans and drawing prompts you opted into.
  • Never for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

Parent controls

  • Review: ask to see any information we hold about your child.
  • Delete: ask us to delete it at any time, no questions asked.
  • Refuse further collection: unsubscribe from emails or email us to revoke consent.

All requests go to privacy@thefambooks.com and are handled within 14 days.

Third parties

We use a small number of service providers (email delivery, hosting, anonymous analytics) that are contractually limited to processing data on our behalf. No third party is permitted to use a child's information for its own purposes.
