Privacy Policy

Tinkerville is a site for parents, teachers, and kids ages 6–13. We collect as little information as possible, never sell it, and keep kids' data protected under COPPA. This page explains exactly what we do.

1. Who we are

Tinkerville (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a children's book series, free lesson plan library, and Junior Inventors Club operated by The Fam Books. Contact us at hello@thefambooks.com.

2. What we collect

  • From parents/guardians: email address (Junior Inventors Club signup), and giveaway submissions (parent name, email, child's first name + age, mailing address only if a child wins).
  • From everyone: basic analytics (page views, device type, referrer). No advertising trackers and no third-party behavioral profiling.
  • Optional: drawings uploaded for the skateboard giveaway, with the consent of a parent.

3. What we never collect

We do not knowingly collect geolocation, contact lists, microphone or camera input, or persistent identifiers from children. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with advertisers.

4. How we use it

  • Send the lesson plans, drawing prompts, and updates you signed up for.
  • Run and notify winners of the quarterly skateboard giveaway.
  • Understand which lessons and characters kids love most, in aggregate.

5. How we protect it

Data is stored on encrypted, US-based servers. Access is limited to the small Tinkerville team. We do not store payment information — book purchases go directly through Amazon.

6. Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom.
  • Request access, correction, or deletion of any information by emailing hello@thefambooks.com — we respond within 14 days.

7. Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll post the updated version here and (for Club members) email parents before the change takes effect.
